ROUGH-STUFF RIDE TO DRYGARN FAWR - Day 123.04.11
In the early hours I stepped out of the tent to view a ¾ moon that cast strange shadows on the magical cairn. It rained quite heavily and this sent me off to sleep. I was awoken again at 04:30 by the many Skylarks that inhabit this peak, drifting back off to sleep I eventually rose at 08:00. The beauty of the morning was incredible, the Sun was having a battle with the mist that lay in the valley below. The Sun eventually won, making for the most brilliant view of the mountain area. After making coffee, the track off the mountain led us through a bog and on to the forest track. As we left the mountain a Red Kite flew high in the sky. The cool of the forest was a welcome change from the hot Sun and it was an enjoyable ride down to the top of the Irfon valley. Riding along this beautiful pass led us back to Abergwesyn and Llanwyrtd Wells to finish off a good couple of days in the mountains.
