Dorothy was around 12yrs-old when her Grandfather, Comte Gerard Gustavus Ducarel de la Pasture, 4th Marquis de la Pasture, took up residence at Cefn Ila so it quite possible that over the years Dorothy may have visited him there on numerous occasions. In November1892 a 2yr old Dorothy and her cousin, Edmee de la Pasture, who was of a similar age, were bridesmaids at a fashionable wedding in London and the 1901 census shows that 10yr-old Dorothy was staying, not far away from Cefn Ila, with her grandfather's brother, Henri, at Llandogo Priory in the Wye Valley, so it appears that Dorothy's mother's family (the De la Pasture's) were looking after Dorothy, at least part-time, in Monmouthshire.
Dorothy and her husband to be, Cecil Twining.
